Engaging your breath practice during yoga practice and Nuad Thai helps heal and align and restore your health. You will get a lot more out of your practice with pranayama.
We can divide the breath into four parts:
The retention after inhalation
The retention after exhalation
we use breath retention in our receiving of Thai and yoga to intensify the effects of a posture and energy channel.
If you have a heaviness in your abdominal region and are in a forward bend (paschimottanasana), breathe out while you contract your belly. Stay in the posture for a second with breath retention out, then inhale come out of paschimottanasana. See how it feels.
